Shutter shade chic

It’s almost summer! Time to start shop, shop, shopping for your little girl’s summer wardrobe! The first thing to purchase: Shutter shades. Why? Because shutter shades are that cool. Chic is…a 17-month-old who knows how to rock a pair of shutter shades. Too sunny? Slip on a pair of shutter shades. Stylish is…a cute little tot who rocks shutter shades and a pacifier. Get Chilo’s style You can find shutter shades anywhere! Tweet

Ahh shoes!

Another Saturday meant it was time to surround myself with a few of my favorite things. With a 20 percent off coupon in hand I headed to my favorite shoe store to engage in some serious retail therapy. Spring was in full bloom at Off Broadway Shoes. The winter boots were delegated to the back of the store to make room for pretty peep toe pumps, exhilarating espadrilles, sparkly sandals and funky flats. But there were a few heavenly heels

Fur-tastic

Published on March 8, 2012 by in Chilo's closet

Don’t put away all of your daughter’s winter gear just yet. There are a few pieces that can still be worn now (and maybe a little later). Pieces like… …this adorable faux fur vest from Koala Kids. The dark fur’s sheen gives the vest a glamorous look as does the satin belt tied in a bow at the waist. Layer it with a long-sleeved top, jeans and mid-calf boots and you’ll create an adorable classic look that’s both easy to

Baby’s got attitude

Published on March 8, 2012 by in Chilo's closet

She’s a busybody with attitude. What’s this little busybody so mad about? Her Ma’Cher (which is French for grandma) was trying to show her how to walk with the little dog on the string. As you can tell from her facial expression, she wanted no part of it. But moments later… She’s all smiles while playing with the plastic pup. What’s the deal?! About that outfit and accessory Carter’s “My mom rocks” gray and navy long sleeved onesie (came with

6 must-have pieces to create a layered look

Published on March 5, 2012 by in Chilo's closet

Every fashionista knows that layering is an essential part of the cooler seasons. Once the temperature drops, our main concern is keeping our little girls warm, not chic. Here are the rules my sister and I follow when layering looks for Chilo. 1. Outsmart the weather. To make sure she’s not feeling weighed down by her clothes select smart, comfortable pieces that aren’t overly bulky. 2.  Incorporate the basics. A thin long-sleeved top is a great starter piece. Pair it
