I never leave home without mine, so it’s only fitting that Chilo doesn’t leave home without her Fisher Price purse She’s not ready for a Valentino or Dolce & Gabbana bag just yet, so this pink, pint-sized purse will just have to do. Chilo’s observant nature means that she wants what I have and she wants it now. So instead of trying to explain to the (then) 5-month-old why she can’t carry my purse, I got Chilo one of her own.
Her first designer outfit
Chilo’s closet now features a special designer piece Off Saks recently opened its latest store at our local discount mall. The grand opening brought out the fashionistas in all of us, with ladies dressing to impress … well each other. Sounds of stilettos smacking against cold, granite floors filled the space. Designer clad shoppers browsed, grabbed, and tried on even more designer clothes with the hopes of snagging a must-have piece that would be the envy of all their friends.
Bling, bling, Chy loves her ring
The Fisher Price Diamond rattle is one of Chilo’s favorite things Hey if an 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring is good enough for the Duchess of Cambridge, then there’s surely a ring that could satisfy an ever-growing princess. So in the spirit of the Royal wedding season, (and after I bought myself a beautiful Princess Diana knock off ring), I searched the web to find some bling fit for a pint-sized princess. It’s the only rock of its size that

Say cheese
Chilo’s smile is one of her best accessories There are all kinds of smiles. There’s smizing (smiling with your eyes), grinning, laughing, and blushing. There’s goofy smiles, fake smiles, and some that feature a hint of trouble. There are smiles reserved for family and friends. There are smiles only seen when Elmo begins. No matter the kind, no matter the reason, when Chilo smiles she lights up any occasion. These are my favorite Chilo smile pics, from a newborn to
Haute hats and crazy cool headbands
Chilo loves hats. Bucket hats: Yep. Sunhats: You betcha. Caps: Oh yeah. Fedoras: Of course. Let’s face it this girl knows how to rock a hot trend when she sees one. Thanks to the Royal wedding, hats and headbands are now back and as trendy as ever. If you’re looking for a hot hat or headband to amp up your outfit, it’s out there. With my affection for hats (I own all of the above and then some), I wondered
Chilo’s closet
The making of a fashionista Style by Chilo is a baby fashion blog all about my niece, Chilo. I’m a first time aunt, so when my sister uttered the words, “It’s a girl” I went into a shopping frenzy that would make even the likes of Mariah Carey say, “woah.” I never knew shopping for someone other than myself would be this fun. Little shoes. Little hats. Little dresses. And skirts and tutus and headbands and onesies and tops and
The toy box
So many toys, so little time She doesn’t accept just any old toy in her circle. For a toy to join Chilo’s clique, it must meet certain criteria. The toy has to entertain, challenge, make lots of noise, and most importantly be fun. New toys always undergo an intense inspection process: She’ll taste them, slam them, stand up on them, and flip them upside down. I’m new to the toy game but I can usually gauge what types of toys
